Announcing our charity prose poem winner.
Dear Readers & Writers,
This is an exciting moment, because counting the votes for each prose poem was truly gratifying. Each vote came from our community, giving heartwarming stories a chance to be published in a book and supporting a worthy charity.
So, we are truly honored to announce the winner of our Charity Prose Poem Competition:
First Place:
Charity — My Sweet Charity by Sean Ford
Your votes made this one a winner. From the first line, the piece captures something quietly powerful—an emotional resonance that stays with us long after we finish reading. The title also took us by surprise because it was a winner, so we chose Charity — My Sweet Charity as the title of our new book.
It is a prose poem that doesn’t simply speak… it reaches. It reflects exactly what this competition was created to celebrate: compassion, humanity, and the transformative power of words.
But this competition is about more than literary excellence. It is also about impact.
Sean has chosen to support Children of the Night as his nominated charity.
Their mission is both vital and deeply moving:
“Children of the Night is a privately funded non-profit organization established in 1979 with the specific purpose to provide intervention in the lives of children who are sexually exploited and vulnerable to or involved in prostitution and pornography.”
This is work that matters, and we will donate to it once our book sales start coming in. Work that protects, restores, and gives hope where it is most needed.
